UCP Sacramento - June, 2011
HIS Communications completed work on the "Respite" section of UCP Sacramento's website this month.
Team members can now log into a page where they can see up-to-date information, add mileage info., and even approve their timecards each pay period.
Clients are also now able to log in and view allotted/used hours and approve team member visits.
We did not leave them once the project was complete to our contract specifications. We have continued to help them in making several small adjustments through Change Orders since that time and even adding reports and pages that became logically apparent by the projects' completion.

Solutions with the small business customer in mind -
The majority of
custom software
applications being created today are
web-based applications
rather than
desktop applications
. Internet and web browser technology has grown greatly over the past decade. It has became not only feasible to deliver increasingly functional business applications via the web, but practical and cost-effective. With the proliferation of the rich web technologies, including Silverlight, and advances in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and AJAX,
web-based applications
can be constructed to provide the end-user with the same highly-functional experience that in the past was only available through traditional desktop software. In addition,
web-based applications
can be available for your customers and/or employees wherever they have access to the internet, making better use of time and information.
Growth and Focus -
Small businesses form the backbone of the American economy, and need partners who understand their specific needs and will work with them to create
custom software
that fits their specific requirements. We, at HIS Communications, cater to small business because we are a small business and understand the constraints, budgets and needs of small businesses in this highly competitive world; however, we also work with larger businesses (including other software vendors) and provide the same on-time, in-budget consulting, strategic planning, and developement for all. As the mode of communication has shifted, we've kept pace by expanding our expertise with additional software languages and new developement controls & methodologies in order to provide our customers with up-to-date products. We have constantly built on capabilities that enable us to consistently deliver functionally complete software products faster, of higher quality, and with fewer resources and lower costs.
Service Overview -
Though the majority of custom development today is web-based, we are by no means limited to this medium. Even though our developers are experienced in web-based Microsoft languages and server-based database packages, we are still very capable in Microsoft desktop languages, local database packages, and many open source technologies as well. Whether your application is internally-focused, B2B (business-to-business) or B2C (business-to-consumer), we can provide services ranging from business consulting and strategy, solution architecture, and development to hosting, domain registration, (through
www.HISCommunications.net
) and ongoing solution management at a price that is still within the budget of small business.
Community Involvement -
HIS Communications believes in helping others, both in our technical community and the community at large. We are a proud Gold Sponsor of the Carolina IT Professionals Group, which not only provides a venue for networking and educating its 3000+ members in new technologies, but also focuses on doing humanitarian work by collecting donations from its members of canned goods, clothing, school supplies, and other items for charities and encouraging members to donate their time and IT skills to local schools and community projects.
